Kapil Sharma apologises to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for controversial tweets

New Delhi : Comedian Kapil Sharma, who had landed himself into controversy two years back against the government, has finally apologised to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his TV show – The Kapil Sharma Show.

Kapil Sharma had complained to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about how he was forced to bribe a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officer to get a clearance to build his new office in Mumbai. PM Modi supporters had blasted him for his remarks on the social media platform.

In a recent episode of his show, where Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Rajkumar Rao were the prime guests, he apologised and promised to keep a healthy relationship.

Kapil Sharma was talking to Rajkumar Rao about his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi; while he jokingly asked if Mr PM asked about him, Rajkumar Rao threw it back on him with a witty reply.

Rajkumar pulled Kapil Sharma's leg and joked that PM indeed spoke to him about Kapil and said that he is very upset with the comedian for his angry 2016 tweets about bribing a BMC officer.

"I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi," Kapil Sharma had tweeted in 2016. And said in another tweet, "Yeh hain aapke achhe din ? @narendramodi.

Embarrassed Kapil Sharma apologised instantly and changed the topic.
