Luka Chuppi box office day 1: Kartik Aaryan, Kriti Sanon's movie gets better opening than Raazi, Badhaai Ho

New Delhi : Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon's latest release - Luka Chuppi - started better than Raazi and Badhaai Ho on the Box Office collections. In fact, the figures are better than Kartik’s biggest blockbuster Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, which had collected around Rs 6.42 crore on its first day last year.

According to a trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film collected over Rs 8 crore on its opening day. While Luka Chuppi became Kartik’s highest opening film, this is the second highest opening for Kriti whose 2015 film Dilwale opened at Rs 21 crore.

He tweeted, “#LukaChuppi has superb Day 1... Springs a big, big surprise... Opens bigger than #Raazi [₹ 7.53 cr], #Stree [₹ 6.83 cr] and #BadhaaiHo [₹ 7.29 cr]... Strong word of mouth should ensure impressive growth on Day 2 and 3... Fri ₹ 8.01 cr. India biz.”

He also compared the film’s opening with Kartik’s previous films.

Luka Chuppi is a story of a couple who opts live-in relationship but under situations end up living like a married couple in front of the family and society. The film is based in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

While Luka Chuppi released on more than 2100 screens in India and 407 screens overseas, Sonchiriya released on 720 screens in India and 220 screens abroad.
