Mumbai : Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a popular family entertaining TV show running since July 2008. Of the many popular characters in the show, Dayaben aka Disha Vakani has huge fan following for her extra-ordinary performance. But, then, there is bad news for fans. Reports claim that Dayaben, who went on maternity leave is now quitting the show. However, there is no official confirmation so far.

When Producer of Taarak Mehta serial was asked about the exit of Disha, he made a cryptic statement. "Can't say about the authenticity of that news. I don't know. Maybe true. I don't know about the final decision. My team is talking with her." he told Bollywoodlife.com.

Earlier reports said that Disha might not return to the soap as her husband wants her to concentrate on bringing up their kid.

The producer of the show had earlier spoken to media about Dayaben's return saying, "the shooting conditions are tough and since Disha's baby is still very young she needs her. We haven't discussed about her return yet and there is no official confirmation on Disha quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah," he had said.

There are also reports that Disha demanded a fee hike for her comeback. She used to charge Rs 1.25 lakh per episode and now she has asked them to give her around Rs 1.50 lakh per episode.

Dayaben has been missing from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since September 2017. She was blessed with a baby girl in November.

On work front, Disha has worked in Bollywood films like Devdas and Jodha Akbar before Taarak Mehta happened to her. It's worth mentioning that Tarak Mehta TV show is the longest running Indian sitcom and has entered the Limca Book of World Records recently.
