Gangster Vikas Dubey killed in encounter during an escape attempt

Kanpur : Gangster Vikas Dubey, who was arrested in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, was killed in an encounter as he tried to make an escape after a vehicle in which he was being transported to Kanpur met with an accident.

The car in which Vikas Dubey was being taken overturned on the highway that was slick with rain and he tried to escape after snatching a gun, according to the police. He was shot dead, like three of his accomplices who, according to the police, had also tried to escape from custody.

As seen in the visuals from the accident site, Vikas Dubey was being taken away on a stretcher.

On the run for over five days, Vikas Dubey was arrested from Mahakal temple in Ujjain Madhya Pradesh on Thursday morning.

He was accused of killing 8 policemen who had gone to arrest him in Kanpur.
