Twin militant attacks in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar : Seven Indian soldiers, including two senior officers, and six terrorists were killed in two separate attacks in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

Major Akshay Girish Kumar from Bengaluru and another officer were martyred in the attacks, which came on a day Pakistan’s new Army chief Ashraf Bajwa took over

The first attack was reported from Nagrota where heavily armed militants stormed into Army camp wearing police uniform.

According to Army officials, the terrorists used grenades and automatic weapons to gain entry inside the camp. Once inside, they started firing all around killing one officer and three soldiers. 

Army’s para-commandos were air dropped inside the camp to flush the militants out. 

The Second attack was reported from Samba sector near international border. Three terrorists who managed to infiltrate were neutralised by Indian soldiers. 

Apart from the terror attacks, the DIG of BSF, three border guards and a policeman were injured in shelling by Pakistani troops.
