Arun Jaitley advised two-week rest after kidney transplant surgery

New Delhi : Union Minister Arun Jaitley has been advised two-week rest post kidney transplant surgery at a hospital in New York on Tuesday.

According to a media report, Arun Jaitley had unexpectedly left for the US on January 13. He went under tests for soft tissue cancer. Even during this time he was active on social media and was posting about several issues based on current affairs.

66-year-old Jaitley had undergone a kidney transplant surgery on May 14, 2018, at AIIMS here and had not travelled abroad since then.

Earlier this month he was given responsibility of publicity of the Bharatiya Janata Party for the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls.

With barely a week left for the 2019-20 Budget, the government Wednesday gave additional charge of Finance and Corporate Affairs portfolios to Railways and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal.
