COVID-19: Indian recoveries exceed active cases by 1 lakh

New Delhi : The health ministry data on Sunday showed that the number of people who have recovered from the coronavirus has exceeded the number of active cases by over one lakh.

There were 13,832 patients who were sent home in the last 24 hours pushing the number of recovered to 309,712, according to health ministry data. In terms of percentage 58.56% of Indians have been recovered from the coronavirus.

The recoveries have been more than the active Covid-19 cases since June 10 when 135,205 patients were declared cured and 133,632 people were infected with Sars-Cov-2, which causes the coronavirus disease.

Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state in India, followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu in terms of most coronavirus cases registered till date.

Meanwhile, India has seen around 5,28,000 coronavirus cases till date.
