New Delhi : Congress MP Shashi Tharoor captivated criticism on social media as he termed Lok Sabha an attractive place to work, attaching a selfie with six women MPs. The picture was clicked at the start of the Winter Session.

"Who says the Lok Sabha isn't an attractive place to work? With six of my fellow MPs this morning: @supriya_sule @preneet_kaur @ThamizhachiTh @mimichakraborty @nusratchirps @JothimaniMP," tweeted the Thiruvanathapuram MP.

Soon, the tweet went viral and attracted negative criticism, with some alleging sexism. The Congress MP has tendered his apology for offending some and claimed that the picture was clicked and shared in good humour.

"The whole selfie thing was done (at the women MPs' initiative) in great good humour & it was they who asked me to tweet it in the same spirit. I am sorry some people are offended but I was happy to be roped into this show of workplace camaraderie. That's all this is," the Thiruvananthapuram MP clarified in another post.

Meanwhile, on the first day of the Winter Session, the government passed the bill to cancel controversial three farm laws in record time.
