Massive dust storm hits Delhi-NCR on Wednesday morning

New Delhi : A massive dust storm hit Delhi and NCR region at around 3:00 AM on Wednesday.

Strong winds, accompanied by dust and light rain brought a sudden decline in the temperatures.

The latest storm comes a couple of days after a deadly storm claimed over 80 lives in five states on May 13-14.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolence to the victim families. He tweeted, "Saddened by the loss of lives due to storms in some parts of the country. Condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured." 

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi also asked his workers to provide all assistance to the bereaved families.

Previously, on May 2, a thunderstorm and a dust storm had killed over 100 people in north India.
