Emotional PM Modi remembers who lost their lives during coronavirus

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday got emotional during a video conference with doctors and frontline workers who are serving the nation with their duties during coronavirus.

"As a servant of Kashi, I thank everyone in Varanasi, especially the doctors, nurses, technicians, ward boys and ambulance drivers who have done a commendable work," PM said.

He interacted with doctors and paramedical staff on Friday to discuss the COVID and non COVID situation at the hospitals.

# "Varanasi has set a great example by the way it has equipped Pandit Rajan Mishra Covid hospital and increased the number of oxygen beds and ICU beds in the city, in such a short span of time," PM said.

# PM said the speed with which the city has increased availability of oxygen and ICU beds, the manner in which Pandit Rajan Mishra Covid-19 hospital has been activated, is commendable.

# "We have controlled the pandemic to a great extent, thanks to our common efforts. But there is no time to relax as we have to fight a long battle. We have to shift our focus towards villages in Purvanchal and Varanasi," PM said.

# He also appreciated the role of ASHA and ANM workers to curb the Covid-19 cases in the villages.

# PM also urged people to get vaccinated and make it a collective responsibility. "We must get ourselves vaccinated when our turn comes and must make vaccination a collective responsibility. Our collective efforts will definitely give results and with the blessings of Baba Vishwanath Kashi will successful win the fight against."
