Gurmeet Ram Rahim case: Court to decide if rapist is also a murderer

Panchkula : Troubles for Gurmeet Ram Rahim do not seem to end any soon, the court has already tagged him as a rapist and is all set to decide whether he is also a murderer in two separate murder cases.

The  court will be hearing two two separate murder cases against Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and others in Panchkula on Saturday.

The cases, related to the murder of Sirsa-based journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati and former Dera manager Ranjit Singh, allegedly by functionaries and followers of the sect will be held in the court of special CBI judge Jagdeep Singh.

The same court had awarded 20 years of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty in two rape cases on August 28.

Ahead of hearing in two murder cases, the security in Panchkula has been tightened to avoid violence in the area. Post last hearing a massive violence had erupted in Panchkula and Sirsa in Haryana, leaving 38 people dead and 264 injured.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim will not be present physically in the court while he will be made available via video conferencing from Central Jail.
