Hoax bomb threat on IndiGo flight in Delhi, fliers exit using slides
Varanasi : A Varanasi-bound IndiGo flight saw dramatic scenes at Delhi airport when a false bomb alert sounded and passengers were evacuated instantly using slides of the aircraft. No bomb was found after intense search operations by the airport officials.
The flight, 6E2211, was carrying 176 passengers on board and was scheduled to take off from Delhi airport when it was stopped and the passengers were evacuated minutes before its departure.
"At 5:40 a.m., a phone call was received from IGI Airport reporting a bomb threat. The pilot found a note in the lavatory of the flight that read, "BOMB BLAST @ 30 MINUTES."
According to reports, the plane was taken to the isolation bay for further actions by quick action team which found no suspicious items.
It must be noted that all passengers were deboarded via emergency gates and are completely safe.
The airlines also released an official statement and said that all security protocols were followed and the plane was taken to the remote bay. After all checks the plane will be sent back to the terminal area.
