In Bangalore, toddler found alive amid dead bodies of family members after three days

Bengaluru : In a shocking incident reported from Bengaluru, a two-year-old girl was rescued after she survived among the dead bodies of five family members after three days. Another nine-month-old toddler is believed to have starved to death. The incident came to light when H Sankar returned to his home after five days and learned that his family has met a tragic end; only his grand-daughter was found alive.

"We found out that there were five bodies inside the house. A baby was found alive.... we don't know the reason behind the deaths. We have rescued the child," police officer Sanjiv M Patil said, adding that the "bodies had started decomposing by the time they were found".

According to the police, H Shankar had left his house five days back after a domestic tussle. He had an argument with his daughter who had apparently left her in-laws to stay with them.

After his several phone calls went unanswered, he returned home and saw his family in the miserable state.

The two-year-old girl miraculously survived and was sent to the hospital for a medical check-up, they said.
