Indigo staffer makes hoax bomb call ay IGI, arrested

New Delhi : An Indigo staff member has been arrested for allegedly making a hoax bomb call at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, reports news agency ANI.

Soon after the call, a few Mumbai bound air flights were physically checked after which the authorities declared the phone calls as hoax.

A similar incident was reported on May 3 when a Indigo staffer had informed security personnel about a hoax call claiming bomb on a Mumbai bound flight.

One of the staffers of Indigo airlines informed the security authorities that he had received a call at about 8:15 am from an unidentified man, who said there was a bomb on a Mumbai-bound flight.

The mandatory meeting of the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was immediately convened at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), which declared that it was a “hoax” call after about two hours.
