Colour leakage from new Rs 2000 currency notes

People have been complaining about ink coming out from their new currency notes. There is nothing to panic about and also believe in rumours of being it fake.

IT IS A GENUINE CURRENCY NOTE IF IT IS LEAKING COLOUR

Economic Affairs Secretary Shantikanta Das claimed that it is completely normal if your currency is losing some colour after coming in contact with liquid.

The senior bureaucrat said it is a nature of intaglio ink used in notes to lose some colour when washed with water. He also mentioned that if one tried it with an old Rs 100 note as well, some colour would leak.

"In fact if there's no colour, it's a sign of fake currency," he said.

Now, it won’t be a great idea to doubt banks and wash off your brand new currency.
