Jain monk Tarun Sagar dies at 51, PM Modi remembers his noble teachings

New Delhi : Muni Tarun Sagar, a popular Jain Monk took his last breathe today, September 1 at Delhi’s Radhapuri temple after a prolonged illness. His followers, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over his demise and said that he will always be remembered for his rich ideals, compassion and contribution to the society.

The Indian Digambara monk Tarun Sagar was only 51-year-old who was suffering from jaundice and other ailments. He died at around 3 am, today. He was earlier admitted to a private medical centre in Delhi.

“Deeply pained by the untimely demise of Muni Tarun Sagar Ji Maharaj. We will always remember him for his rich ideals, compassion and contribution to society. His noble teachings will continue inspiring people. My thoughts are with the Jain community and his countless disciples,” the Prime Minister tweeted.

 His lectures are termed Kadve Pravachan have been compiled and published in book series also titled Kadve Pravachan. He got the title of krantikari (revolutionary) at a religious gathering in Karnataka, and Rashtra Sant in 2003 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Modi said the Jain monk’s noble teachings will continue to inspire people. Home minister Rajnath Singh also expressed grief on the demise of the respected Jain monk

His last rites will be performed at Muradnagar in Uttar Pradesh.
