Srinagar : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday addressed the Lok Sabha with shocking news of revoking Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

President Ram Nath Kovind has signed the notification to scrap the Article 370. President Ram Nath Kovind has issued a presidential order on Jammu and Kashmir, exercising his power under Clause 1 of Article 370. 

This presidential order has done away sections under Article 35A.

Centre will now be taking steps to make Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory. Jammu and Kashmir will be a Union Territory with a legislature, while Ladakh region will be a Union Territory without a legislature, according to the government's plan for J&K, says Amit Shah.
