Mild tremor shakes Delhi-NCR, many woken from sleep

Mild tremors felt in Delhi-NCR

New Delhi : Mild tremors were felt in New Delhi and National Capital Region after a 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck the region with its epicentre on Delhi-Haryana border.

The tremors, which lasted for about 1 minute, were felt at around 4:15am in the morning.  According to US Geological survey, the first quake struck at a depth of 10 kms.

No immediate loss of life and property has been registered but people started sharing their experiences on Twitter and other social networking sites.

We also spoke to some living in Delhi.

Sheerin from East Delhi says she found her windows shaking and was terrified thinking someone is there outside before she realised it is an earthquake.

Aparna, on the other hand, woke up from her sleep and instantly checked with all her dear ones if they also felt the tremor.
