Earthquake in Assam: Quake of 5.2 magnitude on Ritcher scale near Kokrajhar

Guwahati : An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Assam early on Saturday, an official said. No damage or causality is reported.

The Regional Meteorological Centre here said the quake occurred 10 km beneath the ground at 6.45 a.m. The epicentre was near Kokrajhar district.

The earthquake originated at 10 km depth in Gauripur. Its epicenter is located at latitude 26.193 degree north and longitude 89.931 degree east. The tremors were felt in Bhutan as well.
