NCP calls President rule imposition in Arunachal Pradesh as “darkest day”

  • New Delhi : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Wednesday termed imposition of President's Rule as the "darkest" day in the history of Arunachal Pradesh.

  • Fauzia Khan told reporters that Congress will protest the 'hasty' decision of the Centre.

  • "The political situation in the state is very delicate and democracy has been sidelined," she said adding, the party is with Congress.

  • Supreme Court issued notice to the Centre after Congress party and the Assembly Speaker Nabam Rebia sought the apex court's intervention in the matter.

  • The SC also directed the Centre to respond to its notice by 29 January, or next Friday.

  • The next hearing will be done on February 1.
