NCP calls President rule imposition in Arunachal Pradesh as “darkest day”

New Delhi : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Wednesday termed imposition of President's Rule as the "darkest" day in the history of Arunachal Pradesh.

Fauzia Khan told reporters that Congress will protest the 'hasty' decision of the Centre.

"The political situation in the state is very delicate and democracy has been sidelined," she said adding, the party is with Congress.

Supreme Court issued notice to the Centre after Congress party and the Assembly Speaker Nabam Rebia sought the apex court's intervention in the matter.

The SC also directed the Centre to respond to its notice by 29 January, or next Friday.

The next hearing will be done on February 1.
