Netanyahu's spelling mistakes at Sabarmati Ashram attract social media trolls

New Delhi : Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday paid a visit to Sabarmati Ashram with his wife and PM Narendra Modi. He described his visit to the ashram as 'inspirational'. However, his note on the visitor book grabbed the eyeballs and was soon all over the social media for a wrong spelling.

Netanyahu, while leaving his comment in the visitor's book, spelt Mahatma Gandhi as Ghandi. Apart from this he also got the spelling of inspiration completely wrong.

"An inspiring visit to the hearth of one of humanity’s great prophets of inspiriation – Mahatma Ghandi – Benjamin & Sara Netanyahu – Israel (sic)," he wrote.

During his 20-minute stay at the Ashram, the two dignitaries also tried their hand on the 'charkha' set up by Mahatma Gandhi himself.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu held a roadshow in Ahmedabad under a heavy security blanket as thousands of people lined up along the route to greet them.
