NIMS University Hosts Innovation Day, Showcasing Groundbreaking Research and Fostering a Culture of Excellence
New Delhi : The NIMS Sushma Innovation and Incubation Center (NSIIC) proudly hosted its annual Innovation Day on October 15, 2024, at NIMS University. This event provided a dynamic platform for students, faculty, and Junior Research Fellows (JRF) to present their innovative research through both oral and poster presentations.
Inaugurated by Dr. Sundeep Mishra, Vice Chancellor of NIMS University, Innovation Day aimed to cultivate a culture of research excellence and innovation within the institution. The event brought together 56 participants, showcasing their groundbreaking ideas to a distinguished panel of judges, comprising esteemed experts in various fields.
The organizing committee, led by Dr. Sunil Bhatnagar (President, NSIIC), Dr. Mahaveer Singh (Vice President, NSIIC), Dr. Shivang Mishra (Convener, NSIIC), and Dr. Sachin Kumar (Coordinator, NSIIC), worked diligently to ensure the success of the event. Oral presentations featured 36 participants, while 20 students exhibited their work through posters.
The panel of judges for the oral presentations included notable figures such as Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Tiwari (Principal & Controller, National Institute of Medical Sciences & Research), Dr. Madan Mohan Gupta (Director, NIMS Institute of Pharmacy), Dr. Priyanka Singh (NIMS Institute of Allied Medical Science and Technology), and Mr. Narendra Vikram Singh (Head of Department, Patents). The poster presentation panel featured Dr. Sunil Bhatnagar, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Khatri (Professor, NIMS Institute of Pharmacy), Dr. Anupama Sharma (Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry), and Dr. Nilesh Bhosle (Associate Professor, NIMS Institute of Computer and AI & ML).
The awards for the best presentations were highly contested. Dr. Anupama Sharma from the Department of Biochemistry secured the top spot in the oral presentation category, followed by Dr. Anirudh Gupta (NIET) as the first runner-up and Dhairya Purohit (NIET) in third place. In the poster presentation category, Dr. Suchita Talmale (MDS Orthodontics, Dental) was awarded first place, with Nidhi Gupta (Applied Science, NIET) and Princy Kumari Rajput (Zoology, Allied Medical Science & Technology, NIET) as first and second runners-up, respectively.
Innovation Day not only highlighted the exceptional talent within NIMS University but also reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to advancing research, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and inspiring the next generation of innovators to contribute significantly to global advancements.
The NIMS Sushma Innovation and Incubation Center (NSIIC), registered under Ministry of education’s program Institution’s Innovation Council(IIC), is dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students and researchers at NIMS University Rajasthan. Through various initiatives and events, the NSIIC aims to cultivate a culture of creativity and collaboration, empowering individuals to transform.
