Odd-Even rule to be implemented without exemptions in Delhi

New Delhi : The much-touted odd-even-rule will be implemented in the national capital without exemptions, Arvind Kejriwal told Green Tribunal in an action plan.

Aam Aadmi Party had strongly objected to NGT’s decision on removing exemptions for women, two-wheelers, vehicles carrying children in school uniforms and VVIPs.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had cancelled the implementation of Odd-Even-rule last month, claiming that they cannot risk security of women.

Last month, the NGT ruled that Delhi government must implement Odd-Even rule without exemptions to fight air pollution, which is reeling under 'severe' zone.

In its anti-pollution action plan, the government has also pledged to stop constructions once pollution levels touch "severe" category and ban the entry of trucks to Delhi.
