Parul Singh Leads Key Meeting with Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee on Strengthening Support for Para Sports
New Delhi : In a significant step towards strengthening institutional support for para-athletes, Mrs. Parul Singh, President of the Paralympic Committee of India (Delhi State) and Divyang Para Sports Association of Delhi, today led a delegation comprising Dr. Harvinder Saluja (Chief Advisor & Senior Vice President), Rahul Kasana (General Secretary), Gaurav Choudhry (Vice President), and Lalit (Treasurer) in a meeting with the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC).
The discussions focused on creating better infrastructure, training facilities, and opportunities for para-athletes in the capital. Mrs. Singh emphasized that para-sports must be given equal importance and recognition, and highlighted the urgent need for collective efforts to empower differently-abled athletes.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Parul Singh said, “This partnership is a step forward in building an inclusive sports ecosystem where para-athletes receive the facilities, recognition, and encouragement they truly deserve. With the support of community institutions like DSGMC, we are confident of creating lasting impact for our athletes.”
The DSGMC delegation was led by President Harmeet Singh Kalka, accompanied by committee members Monty Kochar, Vinny Gujral, Gaganjot Singh, and Karanpreet Singh. The committee extended its support to future collaborations for the upliftment of para-sports.
The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to work together towards providing greater opportunities and resources for para-athletes, reinforcing Delhi’s potential to emerge as a hub for para-sports in India.
