Rain Impact: Water supply in Mumbai suspended till further notice

Mumbai : With heavy rains lashing Mumbai and its suburbs, water supply has been suspended in the whole city till further notice.

The decision has been taken as the power supply at Bhandup water complex has been cut due to heavy downpour.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has informed that the water supply can only begin after the electricity is restored. It also suggested citizens to boil the water before consumption for extra safety.

It has also urged Mumbaikars to use water sparingly until the water supply is restored completely.

Meanwhile, due to water logging, power outages have been reported in many parts of the city, including Colaba, Bandra, Kurla, Malad, Kandivali, Ghatkopar, Mahalaxmi, Sewri, Wadala and Mumbai Central.

Several low-lying areas in Mumbai have been flooded with water due to continuous rainfall. Nearly, 25 people have lost their lives in different rain related incidents across the city.
