Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Fake News alert: PM Modi not giving Rs 10,000

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Fake News alert: PM Modi not giving Rs 10,000

New Delhi : A message is being forwarded on Whatsapp and other social media platforms claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving Rs 10,000 under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana to people who register on a given link before August 15, claimed a news report.

Here is the truth (Fake or Real) behind the viral message

Before you fall for the attractive amount, let us warn you that it is a fake message being circulated by some of the men.

At first, when you visit the about us section in the mentioned link there is not a single government website linked to it, raising a serious doubt on its authenticity.

Secondly, the link mentioned is ‘http://sukanya-yojna.m-indian-gov.in/’, however, the official website of the government of India is the National Portal of India (india.gov.in).

Even bigger concern is, the link redirects to a page where user need to fill his personal details; but there is no place where people are asked to share the contact details, which is a must in case of further communication.

On discerning the URL of the website it could only be found that the website was created on 6 August and was created in Maharashtra. (Note: If it is linked to a government website why would a new portal be created?)
