New Delhi : Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that Jat community cannot be included in the Central list of Other Backward Classes

It also directed government to recognise emerging socially and educationally backward groups like transgenders
-
After court judgement 27 Jat MPs, led by Union Rural Development Minister Chaudhury Birender Singh, met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley
-
They asked government to challenge the order in a review petition
-
Also threatened to handle the case their way if no solid action is taken from government’s end
-
Judgment will affect the politically significant Jats in Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Bharatpur and Dholpur districts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
-
The quota was given by the then ruling UPA government.
