Tremors felt in Delhi-NCR as 6.3 magnitude earthquake jolts Afghanistan

New Delhi : Strong tremors were felt in several parts of north India on Friday evening.

The National Center for Seismology recorded 6.3 magnitudes of the quake that struck at 5.09 pm with its epicentre 250 km from Afghanistan capital Kabul.

The quake happened at a depth of 190 km.

While it jolted Afghanistan, its strong effects could be seen in Pakistan and many parts of north India, including Punjab and Delhi.



No immediate reports of casualties in India were seen.

The Paris-based European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the tremors were felt from Tashkent to New Delhi, a distance of nearly 1,500 km.
