Under-construction building collapses in Bengaluru, 1 dead

Bengaluru : A person has reportedly been killed as an under-construction three-storey building collapsed in Bengaluru's Thyagaraja Nagar area. It has been learned that a deep excavation in the adjacent building made it weak.

Rescuers, including a dog squad, have been deployed at the incident site to find if any other person is stuck inside the debris of the building.

According to a police officer, the building was not violating any law. However, the owner of adjacent building started excavating a few days ago and might have digged down close to the foundation of collapsed building.

"One person has been killed. He got stuck in between the beams of a building," an official disclosed. The victim, who seems to be in his 20s, is said to be an electrician or welder working at the site.
