New Delhi : Sabzi Mandi at Sultanpuri has been closed with immediate effects after people were seen violating coronavirus guidelines. The decision to open will be taken after July 16.

In the past few days, Delhi authorities have closed many markets like Karol Bagh and Lajpat Nagar after many people were seen flouting the rules. A huge crowd was also seen at the popular Sarojini Nagar market over the weekend, raising alarms of a possible third wave.

Earlier on Sunday, Sadar Bazar was partially closed to control the overcrowding in the market area. The Delhi government had previously ordered a shutdown of Lajpat Nagar market and Rui Mandi in Sadar Bazar for violation of COVID-19 norms.

The authorities have been urging people continuously to follow the coronavirus orders and step out only in emergency cases.
