New Delhi : Congress lawmaker Sanjay Singh on Tuesday submitted his resignation and said he would join the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday.

He is a Rajya Sabha member from Assam, but the sources have said that he has resigned from Rajya Sabha too with Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu accepting his resignation.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, the leader said he would join the BJP on Wednesday.

Earlier, Sanjay Singh had worked for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 90s.

He had unsuccessful contested the recent Lok Sabha election from Sultanpur. The BJP's Maneka Gandhi had won from there.
