Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party presents Rs 41,129 crore budget

New Delhi : Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday announced Rs 41,129 crore budget with major segment dedicated to education sector.

Highlights:

  • "This is the country's first Swaraj Budget prepared by the Aam Aadmi (common man)," Manish Sisodia, the Delhi Finance Minister.

  • In party's first budget Rs 253 crores has been allotted as Swaraj Fund

  • Each constituency will be allotted with Rs. 20 crore

  • The largest amount Rs. 9836 crore has been allocated for education - 106 per cent more than last time

  • Rs. 50 crore has been allotted for a Wi-Fi infrastructure in the city

  • The government has announced Rs. 4787 crore was allotted to the health sector

  • 100 new hospitals are planned for better healthcare

  • Rs. 5,908 crore has been set aside for municipal corporations

  • Rs. 1,690 crore has been allocated for subsidy on water and electricity

  • Rs. 1,690 crore has been allocated for subsidy on water and electricity

  • Last year Arun Jaitley, under President rule had presented a budhet of Rs 36,776 crores.
