Polls 2018: Did Rahul Gandhi break Indira Gandhi's record? Truth inside

Jaipur : Political parties are gearing up for the elections scheduled in the five states – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana. Election Commission has announced the dates and the parties are doing two type of campaigns – on social media and on field – to lure the voters.

A social media post claims that Rahul Gandhi broke Indira Gandhi's record with over 2.5 million people attending his address, 0.5 million more than his grandmother. Let's find out if the claims made are real of just a fake one to attract votes.

What's the post?

A picture with thousands of people attending a rally masked with a picture of Congress President Rahul Gandhi. The image has been tagged with a text claiming that the Congress president has broken Indira Gandhi's record of 20 lakh people in attendance.

What's the truth?

The image is a result of photoshop where Rahul Gandhi's image has been placed on the right top corner of a picture showing millions of people attending a rally. But, when we searched deeply, we found the image on getty image that was clicked way back in 2013 during a rally organised by Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
