Breastfeeding boosts Helen Flanagan's confidence

Los Angeles : After lashing out at critics of mothers who nurse their babies in public, actress Helen Flanagan revealed that breastfeeding has given a boost to her confidence.

In an interview on TV show "Lorraine", the 28-year-old said she often uses her Instagram account to empower other mothers to also feel good about carrying out the natural act, reports dailymail.co.uk.

The mother of two children said: "When you're breastfeeding, your confidence grows. When you're breastfeeding you become more aware of your baby. I like to use my Instagram to promote feeding in confidence.

"It doesn't make you a better mummy, it's just if you are happy, then your baby is happy. The more you do it, the more your confidence grows."

However, the former "Coronation Street" star said her advocating of public breastfeeding led to one negative reaction.

"I've only had one bad experience. I think Delilah was three weeks old. I was breastfeeding in Starbucks and there was a girl opposite me...I was quite shocked, as another woman, she was making some not very nice remarks to her boyfriend."

A few days ago, Flanagan also featured on some magazine's cover, on which she is seen proudly nursing her 15-month-old daughter Delilah.
