Canada condoles passing away of Vajpayee

New Delhi : Canada on Friday condoled the death of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee whose last rites were performed earlier in the day.

"Canada extends its sincerest condolences to the people of India following the death of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who devoted his life to the benefit of his country," the Canadian Foreign Ministry said on its Twitter handle.

Three-time Prime Minister Vajpayee, 93, passed away on Thursday here after a prolonged illness.
