Forward Borja Iglesias promises to do his best at Espanyol

Barcelona : Spanish forward Borja Iglesias, who was presented on Wednesday as a new player for Espanyol, said he joined the Spanish club to do his best rather than to be a second Gerard Moreno, the departed star forward.

Moreno, who moved to Villarreal, was Espanyol's top scorer in the past season, while Iglesias, who scored 23 goals in 43 official matches in the 2017/2018 season, joined the team after four years at Celta Vigo, reports Efe.

Espanyol sporting director general Oscar Perarnau said: "We all agreed that he has potential and room for improvement."

The 25-year-old forward, who moved to Espanyol for 10 million euros ($11.7 million) to be paid in instalments, has become the most expensive deal in the history of the Spanish club.
