Haryana okays 7th pay panel scales for university, college staff

Chandigarh : In a bonanza for employees of colleges and universities, the Haryana government on Friday approved revision of pay scales as per the 7th Pay Commission. The enhanced emoluments will benefit teaching and non-teaching staff of government universities and colleges and government-aided colleges.

To be implemented with retrospective effect from January 1, 2016, the pay revision will entail an additional annual outgo of Rs 230.6 crore, Finance Minister Abhimanyu said.

"With this decision, teaching and non-teaching staff working on 2,853 posts in various universities and colleges in the state would be benefited," Abhimanyu said in a statement.

Assistant professors of universities and colleges will now get Rs 57,700-79,800 whereas, associate professors will be paid Rs 131,400 and professors Rs 144,200-Rs 182,200.

Similarly, assistant librarians of universities and colleges will get Rs 57,700-Rs 68,900 and deputy librarians are entitled to Rs 79,800-Rs 131,400 and librarians will get Rs 144,200.

The Finance Minister said the number of teaching and non-teaching employees who would be benefited from the enhanced salary included 1,990 in government colleges, 2,956 in government-aided colleges, 332 in Kurukshetra University, 287 in Maharshi Dayanand University-Rohtak, and the rest in five other government universities.
