Injury forces Celta goalkeeper Blanco out for 4 weeks

Vigo (Spain) : Celta Vigo goalkeeper Ruben Blanco will be out of action for three to four weeks, with the La Liga club's medical staff saying on Saturday that he likely suffers from a muscle injury to his left thigh.

The Spain under-21 international is to have an ultrasound scan to determine the extent of the fibrillar fracture in his rectus femoris, although the medical staff estimated that he may be out for three or four weeks, reports Efe.

"News on the medical front: (defender) Kevin Vasquez receives a discharge, but Ruben Blanco could be laid low for up to a month," Celta Vigo confirmed via Twitter.

Vazquez had been recovering from a left foot injury that forced him to exercise alone during the most recent training session.

Celta Vigo, which finished 13th in La Liga last season, signed a new five-year contract with Blanco in late June.
