Real Madrid's Odriozola to miss UEFA Super Cup with injury

Madrid : Real Madrid's Spanish right back Alvaro Odriozola is to miss the UEFA Super Cup clash against Atlético Madrid with a right leg abductor injury, the Champions League reigning champion announced on Monday.

Although the La Liga club did not reveal for how long 22-year-old Odriozola would be sidelined, the recovery from this kind of injury could take between 1-2 weeks, reports Efe.

"After the tests carried out by the Real Madrid Sanitas Medical Services on our player Alvaro Odriozola, he has been diagnosed with a grade one injury in the abductor of the right leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed," the club said in a statement on its website.

The rest of the team, meanwhile, trained hours before travelling to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, the venue for Wednesday's clash.
