S. Korea names venues for September football friendlies

Seoul : South Korea's football federation, KFA, on Monday confirmed the venues for the upcoming friendly matches of the men's national team against Costa Rica and Chile at home.

The KFA said the team will take on world No.23 Costa Rica at Goyang Stadium in Goyang, north of Seoul, on September 7 and play against world No.9 Chile in Busan, 450 kilometres southeast of the capital, on September 11.

Both matches will kick off at 8 p.m local time, reports Yonhap news agency.

The two friendlies will be world No.57 South Korea's first two friendly matches after the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where they suffered a group stage exit against Germany, Sweden and Mexico.

South Korea are looking to play the September friendlies under a new coach after Shin Tae-yong's contract expired in July. Shin is listed as one of the candidates.
