'Welcome Back' actress Ankita to make TV debut

Mumbai : Actress Ankita Srivastava, who featured in the 2015 movie "Welcome Back", is set to make her TV debut with Anirudh Pathak's forthcoming show "Dastaan-E-Mohabbat Salim Anarkali".

Ankita will play a character named Firdaus.

"Firdaus is a courtesan who believes in falling in love with status rather than the person. I play a very crucial role in the love story between Prince Salim and Anarkali. This is the first time that I am trying my hand at television. The look and feel of the character is very challenging," Ankita said in a statement.

"I know it is an unusual path to make my debut on TV, but for me, character satisfaction is of utmost priority. The makers have made sure that while I carry my bold image as Firdaus, I bring elegance along with it. Firdaus is a charmer and extremely pretty. I am looking forward to start shooting for the show," she added.
