COVID-19 impact: Surajkund Mela cancelled for the first time in 34 years

New Delhi : Surajkund international craft mela, which starts on February 1 every year, has been cancelled this year for the first time in 34 years due to unfavorable coronavirus situation in the nation. However, the state government has announced that they will once again review the situation in April and think about holding it at a later date.

"If the situation improves in the coming days, the tourism department will organise the fair," The Times of India quoted Rajesh Joon, nodal officer of Surajkund Mela, as saying.

Surajkund Mela is generally organized by the Haryana Government at Surajkund, which is located near the Delhi Faridabad border. Last year, the Surajkund Mela was held on the theme of Himachal Pradesh.
