‘Bharat Solar Yatra’ Begins from Ayodhya: A Nationwide Awareness Campaign to Bring Solar Energy to Every Home
New Delhi : India has embarked on the Bharat Solar Yatra with great enthusiasm and optimism, an initiative launched by YouTuber Purushottam Pandey on the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day from Ayodhya. This campaign highlights that solar energy is not just about promoting government schemes, but truly about transforming lives and leading India towards a self-reliant energy future.
The journey was designed to last for 180 days, covering nearly 25,000 kilometers across the country and reaching a majority of districts. At every stop, the yatra has been engaging citizens with flagship government initiatives such as the ‘Har Ghar Surya’ scheme and the PM-KUSUM program, aiming to boost awareness and adoption of renewable energy.
Inter Tech’s Contribution and Technical Reliability
Inter Tech, which provides Marconite earthing solutions, has played a vital role in ensuring durability and safety for solar plants. Its solutions are designed to last for up to 50 years, offering critical reliability to solar energy systems.
A representative from Inter Tech said, “The Bharat Solar Yatra demonstrates that renewable energy and Made-in-India solutions complement each other. Our goal is to ensure that every solar plant is both safe and long-lasting.”
Similarly, Mr. Arun Tripathi, Advisor to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, New Delhi, praised the initiative, saying it is a commendable effort to take schemes like ‘Har Ghar Surya’ and PM-KUSUM to the grassroots level. He emphasized that “awareness is the foundation through which solar energy can truly reach every household.”
Present Developments
Currently, during the Bharat Solar Yatra, Purushottam Pandey has added a significant technical milestone by operating a “Factory Solar-powered 18 kW hybrid solar panel system running 24×7” in a village. This achievement has made the campaign not only more engaging but also technologically enriched.
Importantly, the installation of solar panels on the Banaras railway track for the very first time is being seen as a groundbreaking and innovative step. This development underlines that the yatra is not confined to awareness alone—it is also driving real solutions and sustainable energy models for India’s future.
