Shillong : Easing out travel restrictions in Meghalaya, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma announced new set of rules which will come to effect from February 11, 2022 onwards. He dismissed mandatory RT-PCR test for travellers from other states.

Following are the announcements made by the CM in his Twitter post:

• Double vaccinated individuals will not require RT-PCR tests before entering the State

• All Schools will fully function from Feb 14 except those in Shillong which will reopen only for Cl 1-5

• Night Curfew will be lifted

• Double vaccinated people will only be permitted in bars, restaurants, movie theatres

• Odd even rule for private vehicles will continue 

• No prior permissions will be required for funerals



The decision to cut restrictions after coronavirus cases reduced in the state. Earlier, the government had made RT-PCR mandatory for all travellers regardless of their vaccine status.
