Tokyo Olympics: PV Sindhu defeated in semi-finals

New Delhi : In a major heartbreak for Indian badminton fans, shuttler PV Sindhu was ousted in the semi-final game by Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei. 

Sindhu lost the game in straight sets 21-18, 21-12. She will now play for Bronze medal on Sunday vs He Bing Jiao of China.

The total game ended in 40 minutes.

On Friday, Sindhu had stormed into the semi-finals of the women’s singles event after defeating Japan’s number four seed Akane Yamaguchi in the quarterfinals.

Sindhu defeated Yamaguchi 21-13, 22-20. The quarterfinal clash between Sindhu and Yamaguchi had lasted for 56 minutes.
