Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla cricket stadium to be named after late Arun Jaitley

New Delhi : The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced that the Feroz Shah Kotla cricket stadium will be named after late Arun Jaitley. He died on August 24 after prolonged illness. The decision was taken to honour Jaitley who served as DDCA's president from 1999 to 2013.

The new name to the stadium will be officially given on September 12. During the same day, a stand in the stadium will be named after Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli. The announcement was made on the social media.

"Kotla to be renamed as Arun Jaitley Stadium. The renaming of Delhi's famous cricket venue as Arun Jaitley Stadium will take place on September 12 at a function where a Stand of the ground will be named after India captain Virat Kohli," DDCA tweeted.



However, the DDCA clarified that the ground will continue to be called Feroz Shah Kotla.
