Pakistan cricketer Nasir Jamshed banned for 10 years

New Delhi : Pakistan's batsman Nasir Jamshed has been banned for 10 years over corruption charges. He has been found guilty of doing spot fixing in the Pakistan Super League in 2017, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Friday.

He is guilty of breaching five to seven breaches of the PCB’s anti-corruption code he had been charged on. Apart from ban, he has also been restricted for taking up any management role in Pakistan cricket in the future.

PCB’s legal advisor Taffazul Rizvi said Jamshed was the “lynchpin” in the scandal.

“The tribunal has reached the verdict that the PCB’s multiple charges against Nasir Jamshed have been proved and he was banned for 10 years,” Rizvi told reporters.

“He will not be allowed to be involved with cricket or cricket administration even after his period of ban is over.”

Nasir has played 48 one-day internationals and two tests.
