Watch video: Lucky Dhoni remains not out even after ball hits stumps

Mahendra Singh Dhoni lucky Escape

New Delhi : Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni guided India to an unexpected victory against Sri Lanka in the second One-Day International at Pallekele on Thursday.

India was cruising smoothly at 109 for no loss when suddenly seven wickets fell for mere 22 runs. The 100-run partnership between Bhuvi and Dhoni saved the game for India but this might not have happened if Mahendra Singh Dhoni had not been blessed with a lucky escape.

It was the second delivery of the 35th over when Vishwa Fernando almost took Mahendra Singh Dhoni's wicket after the ball went on to hit the stumps; luckily the bails did not come off and MS Dhoni remained not out.
