Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez hopes La Liga will resume soon

New Delhi : Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has hoped that the top-flight football will be resumed soon but the decision rests completely with the La Liga and the RFEF to decide on a prominent date.

The current season has been suspended indefinitely due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but Spain has started easing out some of the lockdown restrictions to put things back in place.

Sanchez offered an update on the current situation and also indicated that games would be played behind closed doors if the season does resume.

“I hope it will return soon, and it will be the federations and league to decide when,” said Sanchez.

“We are allowing individual training within team sports.

“But, I believe we will see sports on television again, before we will do with fans in stadiums.”

La Liga clubs are expected to return to training next week, but it is still not clear when Barcelona could return to action.
