Two Kashmir boys to play for Spanish club

Srinagar : It’s like dream come true for two Kashmir boys.  Two boys Basit Ahmad and Mohammad Asrar have made the cut to play with Spanish club Sociedad Deportiva Lenense Proinastur. It only happened due to CRPF thanks, who have tied up with the club to scout for talent at the grassroots level.

The 18-year-old budding footballers gave their best and never letting their passion die, despite the simmering unrest in Jammu and Kashmir.  There were was no sports activity in the valley for over four months.

After the recent problems in Valley, the Armed forces tied up with the Spanish football club in order to engage with the Kashmiri youth and channelise their energy in a more positive and productive manner.

All expenses of the two youngsters will be paid by the Spanish club as per the terms of the contract.

Earlier, Parvez Rasool became the first player from valley to represent India and play in cash lucrative Indian Premier League
